HOW IT STARTED

MATILDA'S STORY

I grew up in Sweden as a true water baby, swimming in the lake no matter if it was 5 or 25 degrees. Years later, when I moved to Australia, Bondi Beach became my new home, and the ocean quickly stole my heart.

Movement has also shaped who I am. From yoga and pilates to running and skiing, staying active has always been part of my rhythm. And so has jewellery. But I could never find pieces that kept up with my lifestyle. Most jewellery couldn’t handle water or sweat, and the rare pieces that did either lacked style or came at a steep price.

One morning, watching the sunrise over Bondi, I decided I would create what I couldn’t find: jewellery that’s beautiful, durable, accessible, and made with sustainability in mind.

After two years of testing, designing and refining, Salty Clouds was born. Our jewellery is thoughtfully made of 18k gold using PVD technology on the highest quality recyclable stainless steel. Learn more about our materials here.
