We take your privacy very seriously (and we promise we’ll never spam your inbox or sell your details). This Policy explains how JONES NEXUS GROUP PTY LTD collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit saltyclouds.com or shop with us.

We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and, where applicable, the GDPR for our international friends.

 

1. What personal information do we collect?

When you browse or shop, we may collect:

From everyone who visits the site

  • Device info (IP address, browser type, time zone, operating system)
  • Browsing behaviour (pages viewed, products you linger on, how you found us)
  • Cookies & similar tech (more on these below)

When you create an account or place an order

  • Name, shipping & billing address, email, phone number
  • Payment details (processed securely by Shopify Payments -  we never see or store your full card number)
  • Order history & preferences

When you contact us or sign up to emails

  • Anything you choose to tell us (e.g. birthday for a discount or any feedback)

Marketing & analytics

  • With your consent: email address for newsletters, abandoned-cart reminders, and other announcements
  • We use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and Shopify analytics (all anonymised where possible)
     

2. How do we use your information?

Only for the good stuff:

  • To process & ship your orders
  • To talk to you (order confirmations, answering your DMs/emails)
  • To keep the store safe (fraud screening, spotting weird bot behaviour)
  • To make the site better (analytics information)
  • To send marketing (only if you’ve said yes - you can unsubscribe anytime with one click)
  • To comply with laws (tax, consumer guarantees, etc.)
     

3. Who do we share your information with?

Only trusted partners who help us run the business:

  • Shopify (our website host - based in Canada)
  • Payment providers (Shopify Payments)
  • Shipping carriers (Australia Post, Sendle, DHL for international, etc.)
  • Email & marketing tools (only if you opt in)
  • Analytics (Google Analytics, Meta, etc.)
  • Accountants/bookkeepers and lawyers when required by law
  • Some of these providers may be located overseas.

We never sell your data. Ever.

 

4. Cookies & tracking (the techy bit, made simple)

We use cookies to:

  • Keep your cart remembered
  • Show prices in your local currency
  • Make the site fast and pretty

You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, but some things (like checkout) might stop working. First-party cookies = ours. Third-party cookies = our analytics/marketing partners.

 

5. Your rights (you’re in control!)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal info we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Opt out of marketing at any time
  • Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if we mess up
     

6. How long do we keep your info?

  • Order details: 7 years (Australian tax law requirement)
  • Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe or we haven’t heard from you in ages
  • Everything else: only as long as we need it for the purposes above
     

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL) and Shopify’s super-secure platform. Your payment details are tokenised - we can’t see your full card number.

 

8. Children

Our site isn’t for anyone under 13. If we ever discover we’ve collected info from a child under 13, we’ll delete it immediately.

 

9. Changes to this policy

We might tweak this from time to time (e.g. if we add a new shiny tool). The newest version will always be here.
